National Sports day was celebrated across different schools of District Udhampur under the overall supervision of Chief Education Officer, Arvin Kumar Koul, with full zeal and enthusiasm across eleven zones of district Udhampur from Primary to Higher Secondary Schools to commemorate the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, India’s most celebrated hockey player.

The schools celebrated the achievements and victories of the Hockey legend and others athletes by organizing different indoor and outdoor sports competitions including  volleyball, carrom board, chess, basketball, cricket etc besides, activities like symposium, debates, easy writing, quizzes etc followed by prize distribution among the winning teams.

The Zonal Education Officers supervised the activities related to National Sports day in their respective zones and appreciated the hard work of all the Physical and teaching staff who had made National Sports day grand success.

Meanwhile, the National Sports Day was celebrated in district Rajouri with full power and spirit as a colourful festival on the eve of Major Dayan Singh's Birthday. Over 60,000 students participated in different events and Sports like Kabaddi, Volleyball, Kho Kho, Badminton, long jump, High jump, Musical Chairs,  Carrom Board, Chess etc. under the supervision of HOIs and physical instructors. Some schools also organised quiz competitions and symposiums.  Prizes were also given away to the winning teams.
