The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar today visited Chinabal Pattan and took stock of the arrangements being put in place for smooth observation of 25th Muharram processions.

During the visit, the DC stressed upon the officers to provide every facility to the people. She instructed the Municipal Officers to ensure cleanliness around the Imambaras, mosques and roads where from processions will come out during the Muharram processions.

On the occasion, Dr Sehrish also interacted with the people and heard their issues pertaining to the mourning processions. She assured them redressal of their genuine demands at the earliest.Meanwhile, the DC also directed BMO concerned to ensure availability of ambulances and medical care facilities to the mourners, besides directing the R&B department to complete the patches, if any, on roads on priority where Muharram processions will pass. 

The DC also passed on spot directions to the transport department/ traffic Police to prepare a road map for a proper route plan during the procession on 25th of Muharram.Directions were also issued for installation of high mast street lights on the prominent religious places. 

The DC was accompanied by Sub Divisional Magistrate Pattan, Syed Faheem and concerned officers from line departments.
