Punjab To Provide Secondary Schooling To 7016 Disabled Students-Maluka

The Punjab Government has earmarked Rs.21 lacs to provide higher schooling to 7016 disabled students in the state during the current financial year.Disclosing this here today Education Minister Punjab Mr Sikander Singh Maluka said that Punjab government would provide Education for disabled at secondary stage aims at providing all students with disabilities completing eight years of elementary schooling and opportunity to complete four years of secondary schooling in an inclusive and enabling environment. Minister further said that Rs. 3000/- per disabled  student would be provided for providing facilities like free books, uniform, scholarship, transport allowance and aid and appliances. He further said this special teacher, helper and barrier free school structure like resource Rooms, Ramps and disabled friendly toilets etc. would be provided to the disabled children as well as the school where these children were studying. He further said the state government would also provide of Rs. 600/- per child per annum towards scholarship.
