District Development Council Doda today reviewed the performance of the PWD, PMGSY, Forest, Revenue, Health and Education departments here at a meeting held in the Conference Hall of DC office Complex under the Chairmanship of Chairman DDC, Dhananter Singh Kotwal.

The meeting was informed that 16 PWD sector schemes were being executed under District Capex budget and 13 new schemes under the same have been added this year. “All schemes have been tendered, while the execution of 5 roads are facing issues/ bottlenecks which need to be settled for their timely completion.

The discussions revealed that 31 projects being executed by PWD including roads, Health and Educational institutions were held up due to Forest and other local issues.The Chairman directed the SE PWD, Revenue and Forest authorities to settle the issues within the shortest possible time to facilitate the early creation of the assets in the interest of larger public interest.

Taking serious note of absence of senior officers from the Forest department, the council pulled up the department and directed the concerned to ask the Conservator of Forest and Social Forestry to explain their absence along with the reply on issues raised in the Council meeting.

Reviewing Education department works, it was revealed that 65 civil works under elementary and secondary education were in progress. The bottlenecks hampering the execution of some works were discussed in detail and directions were passed for early resolution of issues.

The council also reviewed the Students teacher ratio, shortage and rationalisation of staff, etc.The council also reviewed the progress on PMGSY, Revenue and Health projects.Taking stock of medical staff position, the Council directed for meeting the shortage of doctors and specialists reported in different Institutions.

The Chairman directed the concerned officers to work in coordination and consult BDC Chairpersons, DDC Councillors and PRIs before proposing new works under different heads and also consult them when any issues hamper the development. 

He further urged the departments to complete paperwork and start the execution of projects approved under different developmental schemes/ heads to utilize the working season optimally for creation of public utility/ assets by using the approved funds.

The meeting was attended by DDC Vice Chairperson Sangeeta Rani, BDC Chairpersons, DDC Councillors, ADDC (CEO of the Council) Doda Pran Singh, SE PWD, SE PMGSY, DIO DIPR, CMO Doda, CEO Doda, Ex Ens of PWD, PMGSY, Forest Range Officers and other concerned officials.
