Donating blood is the greatest service to humanity.  There is no better donation than a blood donation, which can save many precious lives.  This was expressed by Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney while honouring the volunteers of the social service organization Dedicated Brothers for their work in the field of blood donation here on Friday at the District Administrative Complex.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner said that every single drop of blood is precious, and can give life to any dying person.  She said that donating blood does not bring any weakness but gives satisfaction to the mind that we have given life to a needy person by donating it.  Sakshi Sawhney urged people to come forward to donate blood voluntarily so that precious lives can be saved.

Jaspreet Singh, joint secretary of the organization, while giving information about the social service work being done by the organization, said that since 1995, Dedicated Brothers are doing social service work through 28 projects in Patiala and its adjoining areas and 2800 volunteers are working for this organization who are always ready to donate blood in an emergency, he added.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Isha Singhal, President Rakesh Vermi, Secretary Harpreet Sandhu, Joint Secretary Jaspreet Singh, Ramzan Mohammad, Manjit Kaur, Harjit Kaur, Captain Taj Mohammad, Amarjit Singh, Charanjit Singh and other volunteers were present on the occasion.
