The directorate of distance education at Lovely Professional University (LPU-DE) conducted a two-week long online ‘Personal Contact Programme (PCP)’ for its distance education students. The LIVE virtual classes were conducted through the ‘MyClass’ platform of Learning Management System- LPU e-Connect.
Many thousands of students from different locations participated in the online contact programme, and got required academic counselling from top subject experts of the university.Based on the online registration of the students; LPU-DE conducted PCP classes in the disciplines of Management, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Commerce, Library & Information Sciences, Economics, Education, English, Hindi, Punjabi, History, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology.
Around 231 faculty members conducted classes for almost 482 courses. The classes were delivered based on pre-prepared instructional plans, covering all the important topics of the syllabus for various courses. Students' queries were discussed and resolved on the spot.
Sharing her experience, MBA student Sneha Singla shared, “I feel very grateful to LPUDE that I got the opportunity to attend PCP classes. It seemed to me that it was a little difficult for a working class student like me to study and grasp the entire material from the book perfectly. These classes made my subjects easy for me, and I got to know the right strategy on how to score good marks in the exams while gaining complete knowledge about the concerned subject.”
Many of the government and private sector employees, who are enrolled in various distance education programs of LPU, also shared that they were conveniently able to take time out of their engagements, and attended the online PCP classes for their benefit.
