The 16th General House meeting of Jammu Municipal Corporation was chaired by Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta at Council Hall of JMC in presence of Deputy Mayor, Purnima Sharma and Commissioner, Rahul Yadav today. The house discussed various developmental issues during the question hour. 

The Corporators raised different issues are being faced by the people and demanded provision of adequate drinking water and uninterrupted power supply; installation and repair of street lights, to start cleanliness drive for nallahs before the outset of monsoon. They sought immediate redressal from the higher authorities with respect to ongoing and incomplete works.

  During threadbare discussions, the Mayor informed the house about the project under which cycle tracks are being laid in different areas of Jammu Municipality. Tawi bridge would also be electrified on the pattern of Bahu Fort under Smart City project, he added.

The Mayor directed the concerned authorities of Jal Shakti Department to take steps to help redress water supply issues. Earlier, the house observed 2 minutes silence in remembrance of the late former MLA Rajesh Gupta and Ex Corporator, Rajinder Singh. Among others, Joint Commissioner JMC, Pankaj Gupta; Secretary JMC, Atul Kumar besides senior officers of concerned department were present on the occasion.
