Former External Affairs Minister and MP Patiala Preneet Kaur along with Patiala Mayor and councillors today handed over a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Patiala Sakshi Sawhney against the Punjab government's order of taking back development funds from Municipal Corporation.Preneet Kaur later informed the media that, "The Aam Aadmi Party led Punjab government through an order given on 10th may has ordered that the development funds worth Rs 13.98 Crore allocated to the Municipal Corporation by the previous government be withheld and be returned to the government, without any valid reason. 

These funds were given to municipal corporation during Captain Amarinder Singh's tenure as Chief Minister for the development works of Patiala. The tenders of these works had already been cut & work orders passed and if these works are not completed it will cause huge problems to the people of Patiala.""I urge the Chief Minister to not indulge in the politics of revenge and immediately release these funds, so as to not make the the lives of 5 Lakh citizens of Patiala a living hell," the Patiala MP further said.

"I along with Patiala Mayor and our councillors have presented the memorandum to the DC and put forth our requests and she has assured us that she will take our demands to the CM," said Preneet Kaur.Preneet Kaur was accompanied by her daughter Jai Inder Kaur, Mayor Sanjeev Sharma Bittu, Deputy Mayor Vinti Sangar, KK Malhotra, KK Sharma, Councillor Sandeep Malhotra, Nikhil Batish among others.
