GCOE conducts plantation-cum-cleanliness drive in schools

NSS unit of the Government College of Education (GCOE) Jammu today conducted plantation-cum-cleanliness drive here at Government Middle Schools, Rehari and Sarwal.As the whole world is facing the problem of global warming and this problem can be solved by increasing the green-cover, the NSS Nodal Officer Dr Shubhra Jamwal and Prof Satish Sharma under the patronage of Principal of the College Dr Kulvinder Kour motivated the NSS volunteers and other students to plant saplings in these schools and conduct cleanliness drive.

The event began with the cleanliness drive in the school lawns by NSS volunteers of the GCOE. It was followed by a plantation drive by them and staff of the schools.Speaking on the occasion, Dr Shubhra Jamwal impressed upon the students and faculty of the college to participate in plantation activities in their daily lives and motivated the students to follow the slogan ‘Each One Plant One’.The event was coordinated by Dr Shubhra Jamwal, NSS Programme Officer along with Prof Seema Kumari, Prof Sarita Dogra and Prof Shapia Shameem Bhatti.
