As part of continuous efforts of District Administration Kupwara, a mega health mela was today organized by the Health Department at Unisoo Handwara of Kupwara district.Chairman DDC Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpori; Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din; DDC Mawar, Khurshid Ahmad Dar and BDC Chairperson Langate, Showkat Pandit  also participated  in the health mela and made it attractive.All hospital facilities were put for services of the people which include free diagnostic facilities and free medicine supply besides, free screening facilities of Tuberculosis, hypertension, diabetes were made available for the patients.

Addressing the people, the Chairman DDC expressed his satisfaction over the Government initiative of bringing the health facilities at the doorsteps of the people.  He said time has come when people need to get benefits of these new and innovative steps.Deputy Commissioner in his address said that it was like a block diwas programme, holding of health mela has been initiated at block level.  He said the Panchayat Raj System is flourishing in the district and its benefits have started percolating down to the target public and that was part of that initiative.DDC Member, BDC Chairperson, PRIs, concerned officers also spoke at the occasion and urged people to get benefits of these people-friendly facilities.Meanwhile, the experts provided detailed awareness to the participants regarding Ayushman Bharat, YOGA Meditation and other health benefits.CMO Kupwara, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Handwara, BMO, Doctors and Paramedical staff, besides, Asha Workers and school children attended the health mela programme in large numbers.
