Under ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ initiative of the government, a mega health mela was today organised in Medical block D.H.Pora wherein various services were provided to the common masses by the Health department.This health mela was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat. Present on the occasion were SDM-Noorabad, ACR, CMO, BMO and other officers besides thousands of people attended the camp to avail the services.The services that were provided to the people at their doorsteps included Maternal and Child health services, diabetes and hypertension screening, screening of 0 to 18 population under RBSK, specialist services, Ophthalmic services, immunisation and family planning services, e-sanjeevani, ABDM, Sehat card (Golden card) generation, AYUSH and other related services.
Furthermore, counseling services regarding adolescent health, nutrition, mental health, drug de-addiction were also provided. Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the camp was aimed at providing services to the people at their doorsteps. He stressed on the health authorities to organize health camps in future also and ensure best health care facilities are being provided to the patients.He also complimented the health authorities for organising such successful health melas to benefit the people.BMO, D.H.Pora, Gulzar Ahmad also thanked people for their participation and stressed on community involvement for availing the services under the ambit of the department.Meanwhile the department of Ayush also installed a stall in block Health Mela organised in which main focus was given on yoga consultation, immunity boosters, Home remedies for common ailments/ medicinal plants.During the Mela live demonstration of yoga was given to the general public.
