Ravneet Brar, candidate of SSM from Mohali Assembly Constituency, visited various villages during the election campaign.  During his visit, the residents of the village mentioned the negligible development work being done in the villages and cursed the traditional parties fiercely. While campaigning in Kumbra, Sohana and Mauli Baidwan villages of the constituency, Brar observed the poor condition of the villages.Taking a jibe at Mayor Jeeti Sidhu who is the brother of Congress candidate Balbir Singh Sidhu and former Mayor Kulwant Singh, who is currently Aam Aadmi Party's candidate,  Brar said, "Both of them focused on filling their pockets as mayors while the lack of basic facilities can be clearly seen in the villages of Mohali constituency.

Brar further said, "Balbir Singh Sidhu was busy in corruption while being the Health Minister and he did not pay any attention to the development of Mohali city.  Similarly, his brother Jeeti Sidhu also did not pay attention to the development of the villages of Mohali. At the same time, Brar took a jibe at former Mayor Kulwant Singh and said that even Kulwant Singh did not pay any attention to the development of villages during his tenure."Kulwant agreed with the then ruling parties to expand his business through the politics of opportunism.  Earlier he was in the boat of Akali Dal, after which he became the mayor after tying up with the Congress and now he is contesting the elections by joining the Aam Aadmi Party." Brar said.Brar assured the villagers that if he wins from Mohali as a candidate of Sanyukt Samaj Morcha, he, being from the farming community, is well aware of the problems of the villages and development work in the villages will be done on a priority basis.
