The BJP has nominated Sanjeev Vashisht, BJP state executive member from Mohali constituency, as its candidate for the Mohali Assembly poll hhowever, earlier Capt. Amarinder Singh was to contest but the BJP has shown its confidence in Sanjeev Vashisht . After the announcement of the seat from Mohali constituency, a wave of happiness has spread among the BJP supporters. To express their happiness Residents were witnessed performing bhangra and distributing ladoos at the moment.On being BJP candidate from Mohali Assembly, Sanjeev Vashisht thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President JP Nadda, Amit Shah, Punjab BJP President Ashwani Sharma . He said that he would fulfil the promises made by the party for the Mohali Assembly and would win this seat by a wide margin. He thanked all the BJP workers for their support and also thanked the people of Mohali for the opportunity of this service.
Sanjeev Vashisht alleged that Punjab will be developed under the slogan of “Nava Punjab” .People of Punjab are also eager to bring double engine BJP as a state government in Punjab. Vashisht also said that he had been thinking of making Mohali constituency a model constituency. According to him over the last five years, the people of Punjab, including the Mohali constituency, have suffered due to rampant looting, drug menace, weak legal system and lack of basic amenities, But coming into power , BJP government, will leave no stone unturned to help the residents in every possible way will try to eradicate such evils from the society .Sanjeev Vashisht further added that the development of Mohali constituency have been marred by corruption of Congress MLA Balbir Sidhu and his family. Mohali residents are feeling cheated. I am in the fray to provide corruption free good governance to the people and I want to serve the people of Mohali to create a new Punjab which is possible with BJP only. There will be no fear , hooliganism and corruption .He promised to change the face of Mohali constituency after winning .BJP Division III President Rakhi Pathak, General Secretary Sanjeev Joshi, Division II President Jaswinder Singh, Division I President Anil Guddu, BJP District General Secretary Ashok Jha, Yuva Morcha Gaurav, BJP Yuva Morcha Mandal I President Roop, President of Yuva Morcha Mandal 2 Lucky and a large number of BJP workers were seen congratulating Sanjeev Vashisht on the occasion.
