Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the meeting with the representatives of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) here today said that the State Government was committed for the welfare and well-being of the workers and working class. He said that the State Government during the last about four years have increased the minimum wages of the daily wagers  from Rs. 210 to Rs. 300 per day, thereby increased their monthly wages by Rs. 2700. He said that the State Government must also ensure that the industrial units must also provide adequate and appropriate wages to their workers. He said that weekly off was being provided to all the daily wagers.Jai Ram Thakur said that ASHA Workers and Anganwari Workers have done excellent work during the Covid pandemic. He said that it was due to that hard work and dedication that Himachal Pradesh has emerged as a first State in the country to achieve target of  cent percent first dose of vaccination and now the State was about to achieve cent percent vaccination of eligible population. He said that the State Government has enhanced the honorarium for ASHA workers by Rs. 1750 during the last four years. He said that the State Government during the last about four years have enhanced the honorarium of the Anganwari workers by Rs. 2850 per month and today they were getting Rs. 7300 per month.

Chief Minister said that regular meetings of service committee of Boards and Corporations would be held so that the pending issues of the employees could be redressed. He said that steps would be taken to stop exploitation of workers by the cement plant managements in the State. He said that services would be allowed through the contractors particularly in the cement plants and other industrial units in core activities.Jai Ram Thakur said that almost two years got affected due to the corona pandemic as the State Government took steps for ensuring that the workers do not suffer. He said that during the pandemic the BMS has played a constructive role in helping the State Government to come out form this situation. He said that all the genuine demands of the BMS would be considered sympathetically and steps would be taken for their early redressal. He said that in the recently held JCC meeting the State Government has taken several steps for redressal of the issues of employees and working class.Chief Minister said that the State Government would soon organize meeting with the BMS before the Budget session next year. He said that effective steps would be taken for settling up of long pending issues of workers in unorganized sectors. 

He said that issues related to piecemeal Workers, Anganwari Workers and other categories would be considers sympathetically. He directed the officers to immediately implement the announcement made by him in respect of various categories of employees. He said that designation Junior T-Mate in HPSEB would be abolished and renamed as T-Mates.President Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) Madan Rana welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. He said that the Chief Minister has always remain considerate towards the developmental demands of the employees and workers. He urged the Chief Minister to be considerate towards the developmental demands of the labours and working class. He also urged the Chief Minister for creating a permanent policy for the ASHA workers, Tailoring teachers and Anganwari workers.  He also urged the Chief Minister to provide minimum wages to the Mid-day Meal Workers. Labour Commissioner Rohit Jamwal conducted the proceedings of the meeting and presented vote of thanks.Additional Chief Secretary Labour and Employment R.D. Dhiman, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Prabodh Saxena, Additional Chief Secretary J.C. Sharma, Secretaries Dr. Ajay Sharma, Sandeep Bhatnagar, Rajiv Sharma and Amitabh Awasthi,  senior officers of the State Government, Surender Thakur, General Secretary BMS Yash Pal Hetta and representatives of various organizations, were present on the occasion among others.
