District Development Commissioner Poonch  Inder Jeet along with Brigade Commander, 120 Infantry, BG,Vikas Salathia, and Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr. Vinod Kumar today visited far flung areas of border block Balakote to take the first hand appraisal of the grievances of the general public at their doorsteps.The officers visited High School Dharati, Zero Line Morha village Datote and Hamirpur of the block Balakote.During his visit, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the locals who apprised him of a number of issues and demands.The Deputy Commissioner issued instructions for the immediate redressal of some of the demands including installation of transformers, weekly visit of gynaecologist at Sub Centre Dharati, deployment of a veterinary assistant etc.In the area, mobile connectivity was also strengthened with installation of a JIO tower connecting the area digitally.At High school Dharati, Army authorities and the corporate sector jointly distributed water tanks to the needy people.In addition, a medical camp was also organised jointly by Army and BMO Mendhar along with specialist Gynecologists at Sub center Dharati.Thereafter, the DC visited the zero line Mohra/village Datote where an electricity transformer was inaugurated which would benefit the locals.He also visited the forward area of village Detote situated on zero line and inaugurated newly installed power line and transformer connecting the unconnected habitations. This work has been executed by the project wing of the JPDCL.Accompanied by the Army officers, the Deputy Commissioner also paid a visit to the forward post Hamirpur from where the maximum area of Mendhar sub division is visible and army officers explained the importance of this post in the area.Brief interaction was also held with residents of village Detote and the officers also listened to their grievances. It is for the first time that any Deputy Commissioner and SSP visited these forward areas and interacted with people.People expressed their gratitude to the Civil Administration for reaching out to them and redressing their concerns at their doorsteps.
