The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Delhi and Punjab affairs co-incharge Raghav Chadha expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab, stating that the Captain government should make efforts to maintain peace and harmony in the state. Addressing the media on Monday, Raghav Chadha said the discovery of arms and other explosives in the Amritsar area along the Pakistan border was a matter of grave concern. He said Pakistan had been trying for a long time to take such actions which should be seriously discussed.Chadha said in the last few days, the number of murders in Punjab had increased and the activities of anti-national forces had also intensified. He said a youth was shot dead in Mohali which had created an atmosphere of terror among the people. Raghav Chadha said the people of Punjab know how to live in peace and harmony and they would retaliate against the forces that were spoiling the atmosphere in the state.

“The Aam Aadmi Party is deeply concerned over the developments in Punjab and is determined to extend all possible cooperation to the Captain government in maintaining peace in the state,” he added. The AAP leader further said the anti-social incidents had taken place for a long time but still the Punjab government had not formulated any concrete policy in this regard. He demanded that Captain Amarinder Singh should immediately take up the matter with the authorities and hold a meeting with the representatives of all the parties. Chadha warned the Captain government and the Punjab Police to immediately stop the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab and maintain communal harmony. He said that Punjab was going through a very bad period in the past which had caused socio-economic and cultural damage to the state and now Punjab did not want anything like that in future. Chadha demanded that the Chief Minister should take this matter seriously and immediately issue directions to his agencies to keep an eye on these matters.
