Deh Kalan becomes first village in Sangrur to get 100% vaccination: Ramvir

Leading the district in Covid vaccination under Mission Fateh, Deh Kalan village of Sub Division Sangrur set a record by vaccinating 100% of its population over the age of 45 years. Disclosing this here today, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ramvir said that the population of village Deh Kalan is 849 out of which 245 residents were over 45 years of age. He said that all the eligible persons above 45 in the village have been given at least one dose of vaccine. The remaining three persons have tested positive for Covid 19 some time back and will be vaccinated only after the completion of the scheduled time for vaccination. At the same time, under the 'Zimmewar Sangrur' campaign launched by Vijay Inder Singla, people were regularly being sensitized in villages and cities for vaccination through door-to-door campaign and other mediumswhich resulted in voluntarily vaccination.  The Deputy Commissioner said that in Deh Kalan village volunteers of ‘Jimmewar Sangrur’ campaign along with the efforts of the health department and SDM Sangrur Yash Pal Sharma have done commendable work for 100 percent vaccination.Mr. Ramvir said that this has made the village Panchayat one of the leading civic bodies in qualifying for the Special Development Grant.  He recalled that the Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh had announced that a grant of Rs. 10 lakh would be given to 100% vaccination completed village. The Deputy Commissioner congratulated the Panchayat and the residents of the village and appealed to the other villages of the district to do their utmost to vaccinate 100% of the people under the 'Corona Mukat Pind Campaign' so that we can eradicate COVID-19 from our society. On this occasion, SDM  Sangrur Yash Pal Sharma, Civil Surgeon Dr. Anjana Gupta, District Immunization Officer  Bhagwan Singh, SMO  Dr.  Anju Singla, village panchayat and other dignitaries were also present.
