Vaccine is an effective and imperative tool to defeat Covid-19 and people who have not taken the jab shall get themselves vaccinated at an earliest appealed Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat to people during a presser at mini-secretariat here.While briefing about the COVID situation in the district, the DC stated that the situation has improved in the district and presently there are only 260 active positive patients in the district and bed occupancy has also reduced with only 09 positive patients admitted in Covid hospital here.Keeping in view the significance of the vaccine, intensified vaccination drives are being carried out in the district and 87 percent of the population above the age of 44 years stands vaccinated, added DC.He said efforts have been redoubled to vaccinate the 100 percent eligible population of the district and all requisite arrangements are in place to achieve this target. He also stated that to detect the persons who have contracted covid infection, aggressive testing is being carried out and on a daily basis nearly 2000 tests are being done.The recovery rate has shown significant improvement and presently the recovery rate stands at 98 percent, added DC.The DC impressed upon all stakeholders and the general public to adhere to COVID-19 appropriate behavior (CAB) during unlock to prevent any spike in infections.The readers can also reach on the official Twitter account of DC Kulgam: @dckulgam and Twitter account of DIC kulgam: @DioKulgam.
