Recently on 24 April midnight in Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib at Delhi the United Sikh Mission Delhi Sikh Youth captured a Truck loaded with a shipping container in which about 150 Saroops of Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji were lodged with great disrespect violating the Maryada. It was learnt that this disrespectful act was not been done by any so called Baba or Sadhu but the present SGPC and the DSGPC was involved directly and the business of exporting the Guru Sahib’s Saroop Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji was carried out since 2009 onwards. There was a directive issued in 2009 by Giani Gurbachan Singh Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht Sahib where he has consented that the Guru can be exported and carried out through containers but now when the issue was exposed he has issued another direction debarring the carriage of Guru through trucks & containers via searoutes marking a reversal of his 2009 decision. This was raked up in the media by the Sehajdhari Sikh Party National Chief Dr.Paramjeet Singh Ranu which was published in vernacular print media.
Dr. Ranu said his Sehajdhari Sikh Party has welcomed the decision of the Jathedar Akal Takht Sahib. He said since the Supreme Court of India has accepted the Guru Granth Sahib as a ‘Living Guru’ the whole Sikh community respects the Holly Granth and even in the Darbar Sahib the SGPC keeps the Guru Sahibs in AC rooms with full respect but here they were violating the Maryada by showing disrespect to the ‘LIVING GURU’. Dr.Ranu said that when our Sikh leaders can spend crores of rupees on airfares and petrol for their political activities, why not the SGPC arrange a special charter flight for transferring the Scribes of Guru Granth Sahib with due respect. He said that the Holly Guru Granth Sahib which is available in Rs 2500/ in India is sold in Rs.3 lakh Abroad and this business of exporting Guru Granth Sahib ji was going on since 2009 through this Shipping couriers via containers.
He said these Shipping containers were taken to Faridabad dry port and where they used to undergo custom clearance and security checks where persons of all class enter the container and check the Holly Granths by contaminated hands to see if any ammunition or illegal lethal items are not being exported and then the containers are again rechecked at Mumbai before loading into the Ships which then travel for 2 to 3 months in the sea and reach the ports of Canada or America where again the same procedures of immigration and security checks are performed by persons of different walk which is a disrespect to the Guru as per the Maryada. He said if this would have been done by any Baba or else then these so called Jathedars would have rioted the city on the name of the Guru. Dr.Ranu said the Akal Takht Jathedar should take serious note of this unfortunate incidence and make sure that infuture no such violation is made and the SGPC and DSGMC personels involved in this incidence should be warned and necessary remedial measures be taken in future. He appreciated the steps taken by the United Sikh Mission and a local vernacular Quami Patrika for taking up the issue bravely. He appealed the Punjab Media to come forward with an unbiased and unprejudiced motive to deliver justice to their Guru so as to just warn the Sikh leadership so that they may not commit any such violation in the near future. He said his Sehajdhari Sikh Party strongly condemns the incidence and welcomes the new decision of the Jathedar Akal Takht.
