Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza today convened a meeting of officers to review arrangements put in place for ensuing Muharram-ul-Harram.During the meeting threadbare discussion was held on arrangements like electricity, water supply, roads, ration, LPG, firewood, sanitation, Street lighting, medicare facilities and fire tenders.The DC directed the PDD authorities to ensure High Mast lights, Halogen Bulbs and LEDs are in place at all important locations and besides generator sets are installed at identified locations and that street lights are fully functional.The PHE authorities were directed to ensure that water tanks are made available at identified locations besides uninterrupted supply of drinking water is also ensured during these auspicious days.The R&B authorities were directed to repair the dilapidated roads if any at an earliest and the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department was also directed to ensure adequate supply and prompt distribution of ration and LPG.Regarding firewood, the SFC department has been directed to dump the required quantity of firewood at already identified locations as per past practice.Similarly the Municipal authorities were directed to conduct sanitation and cleanliness during the prescribed period besides launching special drives well in advance.Fire and Emergency Authorities were directed to remain prepared to deal with any eventuality and regarding transport arrangements the concerned authorities were directed to ensure adequate and hassle free transport facilities during the period.The meeting among others was attended by ADC Budgam, Dr. Nasir Ahmad, CPO, All SDMs, Ex. Er’s of R&B, PDD, PHE all Tehsildars, all EOs and others concerned besides representatives of prominent Shia Anjumans.
