Bandipora , 21 May 2020

District administration Bandipora on Thursday observed Anti-Terrorism day in the district by pledging to fight all forms of terrorism and violence to promote peace and non- violence.The pledge was taken on while commemorating death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi who was killed in a suicide attack in Tamil Nadu in 1991, in the  district.On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora took the pledge along with the participants to oppose with strength, all forms of terrorism and violence. The pledge  ceremony was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Beigh, Assistant Commissioner Development  Abdul Rasheed Dass besides other senior officers of the district. In View of the Coronavirus pandemic, social distancing was properly maintained besides other precautionary  measures and less gathering was ensured.Similarly, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama also administered pledge on the Anti - terrorism Day to Government employees in the  function organized at DC Office complex Pulwama.The function was attended by all Civil and Police officers including the staff of various departments.While speaking on the  occasion, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama said 'the pledge was taken to oppose all forms of violence and terrorism and making efforts towards maintaining unity and communal  harmony in the country.'Anti - terrorism Day is celebrated throughout the country to commemorate the death anniversary of former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi.
