Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the meeting of All Mandal Presidents and District Presidents of the BJP through video conferencing from Shimla today asked them  to extend their wholehearted cooperation to the State Government to check the spread of corona virus in the State.Chief Minister said that party functionaries must keep a close  watch on the persons coming from other parts of the country to their native places so that they follow the protocol of home quarantine and do not mix up with local people till their  quarantine period is not over. He said that for this State Government has also launched ‘Nigah’ programme and they could also play a vital role in identifying the households  where persons have arrived from other States.He said that the party workers should also coordinate with elected representatives of PRIs in their areas so that foolproof  arrangements could be made for quarantine of the coming persons. He said that they should also ensure that general public in their respective areas maintain proper social  distancing and also wear face cover. He said that party functionaries should motivate the people to download ‘Aarogya Setu App’. He said that they should also educate the  people regarding social stigma associated with the disease. He said that this was a mere viral infection and one should fight the disease and not the affected person.

Jai Ram Thakur said that they must ensure that the house has adequate facilities to keep the person under home quarantine. He said that if they feel that the house does not  have sufficient isolation facilities for the visiting persons, they should bring to the notice of the district administration so that they should be kept in community accommodation  such as panchayat bhawans, mahila mandal bhawans and yuvak mandal bhawans. He said that all the party functionaries must ensure that no one in their areas particularly the  migrant labourers go without food.Chief Minister said that the party workers must also provide adequate face masks and face covers to the needy and also sensitize the people  about its benefits. He said that any kind of social functions and gatherings should also be avoided.Jai Ram Thakur said that the party workers have provided 1, 10, 243 Modi  Ration Kits and 21, 17,409 masks to the needy persons of the State. He said that in addition to this 4,89,302 food packets were also distributed to poor persons. He said that  party workers also contributed Rs. 8,20,54000 towards State Covid Fund and Rs. 1,89,67000 towards PM CARES.Chief Minister said that the State Government has taken  effective measures to check covid pandemic in the State and even Prime Minister has appreciated the steps taken by the State Government.State BJP President Dr. Rajiv Bindal  said that BJP has organized 864 video conferencing in the State in which over 25000 party workers and functionaries have participated.Organizing Secretary also shared his  views on the occasion.Later, State BJP President Dr. Rajiv Bindal handed over 2.50 lakh masks to the Chief Minister provided by the National BJP President.OSD to Chief Minister  Shishu Dharma was also present.
