Kashmir witnessed three deaths in a single day and four deaths in past 24 hours due to Covid-19 infection on Monday.Covid-19 infection claimed the life in Jammu and Kashmir and the patient was from Hillar Kokarnag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.The man died at Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar during morning hours.Medical Superintendent, CD Hospital, Dr Salim Tak told news agency KNT that an elderly patient above 75 years of age died in the hospital due to Covid-Pneumonia. He said the patient hails from Hillar Kokarnag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.Hillar has already been declared as red zone as various confirmed cases of Coronavirus have been reported from there.The 2nd death occurred again at CD Hospital Srinagar and the patient was an elderly woman from South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.Nodal Officer for Coronavirus at SMHS Hospital Dr Saleem told news agency KNT that an elderly woman from South Kashmir’s Kulgam district died of cardiac arrest shortly after she was shifted from SMHS Hospital to CD Hospital Srinagar.He said a 65 year old female from Kulgam, who was admitted in Surgical ICU in SMHS Hospital as case of sub dural haemorrhage (SDH) was tested positive for COVID today morning and was shifted to CD Hospital Srinagar where immediately after admission she had cardiac arrest and died instantly.An elderly woman from Kokarnag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district died during evening of thyroid cancer. She was also Covid-19 positive.Nodal Officer for Coronavirus Dr Saleem told KNT that the elderly woman was suffering from Thyroid cancer. “It was her last stage of cancer and it was extensive. The cause of death is cancer though she was also tested positive for Covid-19,” he said.It was the third death of the day in Kashmir.Yesterday, a young lady had died from Habakadal Srinagar.With these deaths the death toll reached 15 in Jammu and Kashmir. In Kashmir Valley 13 patients have died of Covid-19 infection while 2 died in Jammu. (KNT)
