Ludhiana MP Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu today said that in view of COVID 19 pandemic, the politicians should rise above party lines and should come forward to support everyone around them. He said this while speaking to media persons at the Isolation Centre set up at Meritorious School, here today. He was also accompanied by Mayor Mr Balkar Singh Sandhu, MC Councillors Mrs Mamta Ashu, Mr Sunny Bhalla and Mr Jai Parkash Sharma, besides others.On this occasion, they distributed necessary items amongst the people staying in this isolation centre, here. Mrs Mamta Ashu donated 5000 packets of biscuits along with 50 PPE kits. Earlier, Mrs Mamta Ashu has donated 250 PPE kits along with other items for the people staying here.Mr Bittu said that there is no shortage of funds when it comes to providing best healthcare to the residents. He informed that on the basis of demand provided by District Administration, medical equipment worth Rs 1 crore has already been provided to the health department out of his MPLAD funds.Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu said that due to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic, he had asked the health department officials to provide list of medical equipment required to fight this pandemic. He informed that when the list was submitted, he immediately released Rs 1 crore from MPLAD funds for this purpose.Mr Bittu said that he has offered more funds if the health department wants to purchase additional equipment. He assured that there is no shortage of funds and hailed the doctors and health department officials who have been on the forefront in fight against COVID 19.
