Jai Ram Thakur directs officers to ensure adequate stock of essential commodities

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the meeting with the senior officers of the state government today reviewed the situation of essential commodities and asked the Department of Food and Civil Supplies and Civil Supplies Corporation to ensure adequate stock of essential commodities in open markets to facilitate the people of the state. He said that efforts should also be made to ensure buffer stock in Civil Supplies Corporation’s depots. He said that special thrust should be laid on checking, hoarding and profiteering and strict action must be taken against the violators.Jai Ram Thakur said that steps must be taken to have adequate stock of pulses as the same has to be procured from other states. He said that the officers should also keep liaisoning with major whole sellers so that the supply chain was not interrupted.Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies, Amitabh Awasthi and Director Food and Civil Supplies Abid Husain Sadiq, Director Information and Public Relations Harbans Singh Brascon and other senior officers also attended the meeting.
