Member Parliament from Patiala Preneet Kaur on Friday reviewed the overall district preparedness to tackle the deadly Corona Virus (COVID-19), and directed the Deputy Commissioner Patiala to keep close tab on the situation triggered by the global spread of the virus.Preneet Kaur who has been constantly reviewing the growing situation has also asked the DC to keep health department ready on a mission mode to tackle any exigency besides proactive screening and testing of any doubtful case, the official spokesperson disclosed. She has also cancelled all her meetings and public engagemnegs till further notice, the spokesperson added.Urging people to not panic and take all precautions, Preneet Kaur also asked the Deputy Commissioner to instruct the field staff of all departments to assist the health department officials in spreading further awareness through a sustained awareness campaign.She has also asked the local shopkeepers to ensure against any hoarding and overpricing of face masks & hand sanitizers to the general public. She said that as precautionary measures these things are the need of the hour & should be readily available in the market for whosoever requires them.  

Assuring people that there is no need to panic as the situation at present is totally under control, she urged everyone to avoid large gatherings besides asking them to take all precautions like frequent washing of hands and use of hand sanitizers to complement state efforts to contain and eliminate threat of coronavirus.
