District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, convened a meeting of officers to review arrangements put in place for the celebration of Shab-i-Mehraj and Nouroz, here today.The meeting was attended by ADC, Farooq Ahmad Baba, Tehsildar Wakura, Executive Officer of Municipality, ARTO Ganderbal, Dy SP Traffic, and other concerned officers.On the occasion, DDC directed the concerned to ensure all the necessary facilities are put in place for the devotees who are expected to visit the shrines of the district on Nouroz and Shab-i-Mehraj days.The DDC directed the district administration to ensure availability of uninterrupted water and power supply, essential commodities, healthcare, cleanliness and illumination in and around the shrines, proper transportation, parking facility and deployment of fire tenders.He directed the officials of PDD, PHE, FCS&CA, ARTO and other departments to ensure better services during the festive days. Besides, the Municipal authorities were asked to ensure cleanliness around all congregation sites and were directed to install street lights wherever required.The DDC directed the Tehsildars to intensify marking checking in their jurisdiction and take stringent action against the shopkeepers found involved in black marketing and profiteering of essential commodities.
