District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Dar today reviewed the functioning of Social Welfare Department in a meeting here at DC Office. JD Planning, District Social Welfare Officers Anantnag and all the Tehsil Social Welfare Officers attended the meeting.Threadbare discussions with regard to the implementation of various centrally and state sponsored schemes including ISSS (Integrated Social Security Scheme), NSAP, Pre & Post-Matric Scholarship, State Marriage Assistance Scheme and other welfare Schemes were held in the meeting.The DDC stressed upon the officers of the Social Welfare Department Anantnag to become proactive, anticipate the events & ensure proper survey regarding additions and deletions of beneficiaries. He asked for getting the accurate data with regard to the beneficiaries getting pensions through said department so that benefit of the schemes goes to the deserving. He asked the DSWO Anantnag to ensure timely release of financial assistance in favour of the deserving beneficiaries.
The DDC assured all possible help to the department for making it more vibrant and result oriented.Earlier District Social Welfare Officer Anantnag, Dr. Peerzada Farhat Ahmad informed the meeting regarding the structure, staff strength, welfare schemes and overall functioning of the department.He informed the meeting that 38520 & 9674 beneficiaries are getting financial assistance under ISSS and NSAP respectively on monthly basis.Likewise, under State Marriage Assistance Scheme, 2073 cases have been sanctioned during last six phases and 913 more cases are being sanctioned during 7th phase. He added that deserving beneficiaries are getting financial assistance under different schemes of the department.
