Central Ground Water Board Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Ministry of Jal Shakti Jammu today conducted one day Public Interaction programme (PIP) on the theme “Ground Water Related Issues’” here at Panchayat Ghar, Pirkhoo.The PIP programme was aimed at to make aware the local people, youths, farmers and other nearby villagers about the Ground water related Issues and their importance.Around 70 local and people from adjoining areas participated in the awareness programme.Addressing the gathering, Regional Director, CGWB, NWHR Jammu,   emphasised upon the Ground water issues  and management of water, saving it for future and make rain water harvesting tanks in the Village. He also advised the participants to transmit the information gathered to make a chain for this noble cause.BDC Chairman, Block Bhalwal, Jammu, Kuldeep;   Sarpanch, Pirkhoo, Rajani Devi  and Nayab Sarpanch Satpal Sharma,  were the main Guests at the PIP Programme .The lectures were delivered by Vidya Nand Negi, JiteshTatiwal,   K.S Rawat and Himesh Pandya Scientists of Central Ground Water Board, Jammu on various aspects of Ground water Issues and management.The speakers covered all the aspects of Ground Water Issues& Management. They spoke about Occurrence & Movement of Groundwater, Hydrogeological Cycle and Water Management, Water for Life and Ground water Quality sampling. A brief interaction and discussions with participant was also held during technical session wherein the problems and issues of the respective areas of participants and remedial measures were discussed in detail.Overall logistic support was arranged by Staff of Central Ground Water Board, NWHR Jammu, including by Alok Kumar, Akash, Rakesh Saini, Subhas, Sodagarmal and Tarsem.
