Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief Monday said it has identified the militants responsible for the killings of Sarpanch, his son and the village head of Amlar hamlet in South Kashmir’s Tral town.Director General of Police Ashok Prasad told that investigation picked up after the police arrested some of the kins of militants in Tral. “We got some important clues and were able to identify the militants responsible for these gruesome killings,” Prasad said that that all these militants belong to Hizbul Mujhadeen.Pertinently, unidentified militants killed Congress Sarpanch Ghulam Nabi Mir his son Firdous Ahmed of Batagund and Muhammad Anwar Shiekh village headman of Amlar Tral soon before the voting in South Kashmir.

Director General of Police said that Hizb militants are responsible for the most of the killings that occur in South Kashmir. “Our investigation has revealed that Hizb militants were responsible for the all the political killings,” he said adding that the case of one elderly person who was killed by militants in Awantipora has also been solved and the militants responsible for that killing also belong to Hizb and have been identified.He said that the three militants killed in Manlo Karewa area of Shopian district recently were found responsible for the killing of Polling Officer Zia-ul-Haq Wani of Hurpora Shopian.“Our investigation revealed that it was the handiwork of all those three militants Asif, Shabir and Abdul Haq who killed polling officer near Nagabal Shopian,” Prasad sa
