District development Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria today chaired a meeting of district officers to review the action taken report on district environment plan.The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Gupta; Assistant Commissioner, revenue Kulbhushan Khajuria; Sub Divisional Magistrate, Ghagwal, Ram Kesh Sharma; SDM Vijaypur C P Kotwal; ACD Siddharth Dhiman, besides other district officers.The meeting was appraised for solid waste management, biomedical waste management, plastic waste management, industrial pollution control, regulation of sand mining in the district.It was informed that mass awareness rallies and campaigns to aware people about the conservation of environment are being held in across the district by Municipal Committees of Samba, Vijaypur Ramgarh, Bari Brahmana, Rajpura. Door to door campaign regarding solid waste management and segregation of wet and dry waste is also carried out during the mass awareness programme.The Deputy Commissioner laid emphasis upon plantation in the district along with creating mass awareness among locals about district environment plan. He further stressed on holding awareness programmes at block level covering all 101 Panchayats of the district and also involving the Representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions.
