Transport Commissioner, Jammu and Kashmir Pardeep Kumar, inaugurated a week long Traffic Paathshala- a campaign to educate people on the need to make roads safe, here todayKumar highlighted that this Paathshala is an initiative of the HDFC Bank to create awareness on the road safety measures to be adopted by the drivers as well as the pedestrians. He said that it is the responsibility of the driver to follow the rules and be careful, and in the same way passengers have to be cautious as well.Speaking on the occasion, Transport Commissioner stressed upon the need of strict adherence to follow traffic rules and regulations which would result in minimizing the road accidents. He highlighted the importance of road safety measures and lauded the role of HDFC bank for launching this public conscious initiative.Circle Head, HDFC Bank, Jammu, Sachin Mahajan, while speaking on the occasion, emphasized the social responsibility of HDFC Bank in creating awareness among the citizens. He assured that the HDFC bank would continue to take such initiatives in future also for the public good.During this week long campaign, rallies would be organized by the volunteers and HDFC Bank employees covering all important and busy traffic crossings to make people aware about the road safety measures.Additional Secretary, Road Safety Council, R K Bhat; Regional Transport Officer, Jammu, Dhananter Singh; Joint Transport Commissioner, Gurmukh Singh, Parvinder Singh Sudan, Abhishek Khajuria and other officers of the HDFC Bank were also present on the occasion.
