"The Punjab Government is fully committed to ensure that the benefits of the development centric initiatives reaches all the sections of the society without any hassles." These  views were expressed here today by the Health and Family Welfare, Labour Minister, Punjab, Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu on the occasion of distributing grants for the development  purposes to 7 villages of the District. The minister said that Chilla, Barri, Motte Majra, Dairi, Gige Majra, Dhelpur and Gudana have been provided with the financial grants worth  more than Rs. 50 lakhs for various purposes such as construction of streets and drains, Dharamshala at Gige Majra, Boundary wall of community center at Dhelpur and  construction of street Noor Mohammed's house to Dhelpur-Gudana road. He also added that there would be no shortage of grants for the villages as the development of rural  sector is a priority with the government.Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu also made it clear that no financial bunglings would be tolerated in the matter of grants and strict action would be  taken against wrongdoers. He also distributed 70 Blue Cards (Ration Cards) to the village Gram Panchayat of Dairi. The minister also divulged that a separate meeting would be  convened later to address the issues being faced by the people of village chilla.Making more development oriented announcements, Mr. Sidhu said that the work pertaining to the  18 ft. stretch of road connecting Dairi and Middhemajra villages and the road connecting Saneta and Gudana Manakpur, would be commenced soon. 

It is worth mentioning that in the Mohali constituency, around 22000-25000 Ration Cards have been generated and the number of Health Cards generated is 106473 out of which  5812 people have availed treatment facilities amounting to Rs. 7,50,00000. In terms of the Labour Scheme, Rs. 1,08,00000 have been credited into the accounts of around 750  beneficiaries. A total of Rs. 80 lakh have been spent on other welfare centric initiatives such as Scholarship for children of labourers and Shagan scheme for girls. All these  activities have been undertaken by the Lok Bhalai Kendar which has been made functional owing to the efforts of Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu. The kendar has provided these facilities  by visiting village after village.Among others present on the occasion included the Political Secretary to Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu - Mr. Harkesh Chand Sharma Machhli Kalan,  Chairperson Block Samiti Kharar Ranbir Kaur Barri, Vice Chairman Block Samiti Kharar Mr. Manjit Singh, Sarpanch Nirmal Singh of Chilla, Sarpanch Manphool Singh of village  Barri, Sarpanch Devinder Singh of village Kurra, Sarpanch Chhajja Singh of village Kurri, Sarpanch Bakshish Singh of village Motte Majra, Sarpanch Tarsem Singh of village Gige  Majra, Sarpanch Sukhwinder Singh of village Middhemajra, Sarpanch Mangal Singh of village Syaoo, Sarpanch Gurinder Kaur of village Dhelpur, Sarpanch Zora Singh of village  Manauli, Zila Parishad Mohali Chairperson Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur, Member Zila Parishad Thekedar Mohan Singh Bathlana, Giani Gurmail Singh Manauli, Gurwinder Singh Barri,  Sher Singh Dairi, Balwant Singh Kala, Gurcharan Singh, Baba Balwinder Singh, Sukhvir Singh, Karamjit Singh, DDPO Mr. D. K. Saldi, BDPO Hiten Kapila, Narinder Kaur Sarpanch  of Dairi, and Shamsher Singh Panch (Village Dairi), SE Devinder Singh from GMADA and numerous senior officers of the various departments.
