District Development Commissioner, Anantnag Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting of the officers and engineers of NHIDCL to review the progress of under execution road projects under R&B, Health, Education, Town Drainage sectors and proposed Vailo Tunnel, Donipawa- Ashajipora bypass and Vailo- Donipawa Road Project at Anantnag.General Manager NHIDCL through a power point presentation informed the meeting that the NHIDCL has been entrusted with preparation of DPR for 10 Km Vailo–Singpora Tunnel at Sinthan Pass. He said that the length of the Tunnel including approach roads is 37.5 KMs, traversing through many village. He added that the Tunnel is being constructed at a cost of Rs 5195.0 Crore.The DDC asked for early tendering for the project and directed the engineers to keep in view essence of tourist destinations of Achabal and Kokernag.The DDC directed the concerned for early land acquisition from Donipawa to Janglat Mandi for Vailo-Donipawa road project.While discussing the Donipawa–Ashajipora bypass road project, the General Manager, NHIDCL informed the meeting that land acquisition for project is in progress.The meeting was attended by ADDC Anantnag, Khawaja Nazir Ahmad, GM NHIDCL, Engineers of PDD, R&B and other concerned.
