As part of 71st Republic Day Celebrations, Indian Army organized a Jazz Band Concert in the Dasmesh Auditroium of the Guru Nanak Dev University here today. This event was organized to promote spirit of patriotism and National Integration among students and others.Maj. Gen. Bikram Singh, GOC, 15 Infantry Division said that the objective of this event was to showcase the integration of people from various walks of life coming together to salute the indomitable spirit of Indian Armed Forces. He inspired the youth to the a great part of Indian Army and motivated them to come forward in making the country secure and strong.The Band comprises of members from various Regments performed emotional patriotic numbers in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Prof. S.S. Behl, Dean, Academic Affairs; Prof. Karanjeet Singh Kahlon, Registrar, Prof. Hardeep Singh, Dean Student's Welfare, Prof. Anish Dua, Director Events & Hospitality and a large number of students and faculty were also present. During the event, the audience witnessed profound emotions of patriotism through thrilling numbers which left them enthralled. The event was attended by civil and military dignitaries, students staff members of University and serving soldiers. The Band performed on 'Chak de India, Jai Ho, Watan Walo Watan Na Bech Dena, Hum India Wale, Mera Rang De Basanti Chola, Ho Watna Ve Mere, Baar Baar Ho, Vande Mataram songs.
