The Additional District Development Commissioner, Anantnag,  Mr. Nazir Ahmad Khaja today chaired a high level meeting of officers of District Administration & security agencies to review the arrangements for Republic Day Celebrations.

The meeting held threadbare discussions on arrangements to be put in place at the venue including security, seating, car parking, transportation, illumination of government buildings, sanitation, barricading,  shamiyana, transport arrangements for school children, levelling of ground where Republic Day parade will be held, snow clearance by MED, drinking water, establishment of medical aid camp with facilities of ambulance, paramedical staff & lifesaving drugs besides presentation of cultural programmes by school children & artist of Information Department on nationalism & local culture.It was given out that main function will be held at GDC (Boys) Khanabal where contingents of J&K Police, IRP, CRPF, Home Guard, District Ladies Police, Police Band, NCC cadets & school children will participate in the March Past.

The ADDC directed the concerned departments for ensuring proper heating arrangements keeping in view the prevailing cold weather conditions for trouble free rehearsals and final day celebration. The officers of District Administration, Police, PWD, PHE, PDD, District Youth Services & Sports and other concerned officers attended the meeting.Among others the meeting was attended by the ADC,  Additional SP Anantnag, Senior officers from Army, Commandant 40th Bn.CRPF,  DSP Security, SDMs of Pahalgam, Kokernag, Doru, Bijbeheara, ACD Anantnag, Xens of PHE, PDD, R&B, Deputy Chief Education Officer, Principals of Higher Secondary Institutions,  EO MC, Anantnag & Representatives from various private schools.The ADDC  directed  SDMs of Doru, Kokernag, Pahalgam, Bijbehara &  Tehsildars of the district to conduct review meetings for Republic Day Celebrations at their respective headquarters.
