Director Law Enforcement J&K Abdul Rahim Samoon today directed the field staff to keep a special vigil on the shopkeepers, vendors indulging in sale of fertilizers, pesticides and seeds without license.The director was chairing a meeting to review progress with regard to availability of fertilizer stock, sampling of pesticides, fertilizers, seeds, status of action taken with regard to non-FCO and mis-branded products, sub-standard pesticides, fertilizers and seeds, seizers and sale stop of such products.The meeting was attended by Deputy Director Law Enforcement Manzoor Ahmad Nazki, Assistant Director Law Enforcement, District Law Enforcement Officers and Law Enforcement inspectors of Kashmir Division.Director emphasized on close coordination at district and divisional level to bring transparency and accountability in the system. He asked for constitution special teams and flying squads for inspection and random checks at district level so that quality products are available in the market. He further added that sale of spurious agriculture inputs must be stopped and violators dealt strictly under law.Samoon urged upon the officers to achieve the desired targets of sampling of the products for seizures of the misbranded and spurious products.Deputy Director Law Enforcement Manzoor Ahmad Nazki, while giving the detailed presentation regarding working of the Law enforcement agency said that during the current year 646 number of pesticides were sampled and analyzed out of which 37 number of pesticides were found misbranded.  The status of misbranded items was given a wide publicity through print and electronic media for the benefit of growers and farming community.
