DDC Anantnag reviews progress of languishing projects

The District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir today chaired a meeting of officers of R&B, PHE, PDD, Education, Health, Urban Development Department, Tourism, Irrigation & Flood Control to review the status of languishing projects in the district.The DDC directed the concerned departments to ensure the completion of languishing projects before the targeted timeline as the physical and financial progress of the same is monitored by High Level Committee.The DDC also stressed upon the officers to include other pending under execution projects in languishing lists so that the long pending schemes and projects are taken up for the benefit of public. He stressed for addressing the issues related to scarcity of drinking water, construction of filtration plants, construction and up gradation of road projects under CRF besides expeditiously completion of languishing projects in the district.The SE Hydraulic informed the meeting that Rs.141 crore were sanctioned for 52 projects in the district out of which 12 projects have been completed while six projects will be completed by the end of March, 2020 with a total expenditure of Rs.40 crores.  It was given out that under R&B sector 36 projects with an sanctioned cost of Rs.57.93 crore including 17 road projects and 18 bridges in R&B Sub-Divisions of Anantnag, Vailo & Qazigund have been taken up.

The SE, R&B informed the meeting that the construction of 16 bridges will be completed by the end of 2020 at an expenditure of Rs.11.95 crore. While construction work of shopping complex at Old SRTC Yard being executed by Urban Development Department at an estimated cost of Rs.11.42 crore will be completed by the end of March, 2020.The meeting was informed that under Health Sector construction of Nursing College at Akura Nanil is near completion while as progress on construction of playfields at Pahalgam, Chandrigam and Panzmulla is under progress. The work on 50MBA Grid Station Wanpoh at an estimated cost of Rs.2.57 crore is near completion and will be inaugurated by 15th of January 2020.The meeting was attended by ADDC, JD Planning, SEs of Hydraulic, PDD, R&B, ACD, Exens of R&B, PDD, PHE, I&FC, Dy. CMO and other concerned.
