Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today directed officers to ensure all facilities in view of Urs-i-Sharief of Hazrat Syed Yaqoob Sahib (RA) at his shrine at Sonwar.Divisional Commissioner exhorted upon the PDD officials for ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply and repairing of defunct lights by today, so that devotees don’t face any inconvenience.The Divisional Commissioner also directed PHE to ensure round the clock water supply in the shrine and deploy additional water tankers at the location on Urs day, besides asked SMC should provide dedicated men for top-notch sanitation and snow clearance in and around the premises.He said that Wakaf Board shall make adequate heating arrangements in the shrine and Mosque. The Board will also install public address system for necessary announcements, Div Com stated.“Health services should install medical camp with doctors, paramedical staff, medicines and one ambulance,” he said.For better traffic management, Traffic Police will ensure adequate car parking at nearby location, he maintained.The Divisional Commissioner stressed concerned departments maintain close coordination for smooth and hassle free observance of Urs.The Urs-i-Sharief of Hazrat Syed Yaqoob Sahib (RA) will be observed on Sunday, December 15. A night-long special prayer will start from today evening in the shrine in which scholars will deliver lecture on the life of the saint.
