Government programmes and welfare schemes should reach grass root level : Bandaru Dattatraya

Governor Bandaru Dattatraya presided over a meeting of senior officers of district administration Solan regarding different welfare schemes of the Central and State Governments.The Governor asked the officers that information regarding different welfare schemes should be disseminated to people in rural areas so that the benefits of the schemes could reach to the grass root level. He said that different departments should organise awareness camps at village level. He urged departments especially agriculture, health and family welfare, education, industries, labour and employment and social justice and empowerment to ensure that people are aware of the welfare schemes related to their departments.Dattatraya said that the agriculture department should encourage all farmers in the district to adopt natural farming. He asked the education department to ensure that quality education was imparted at school level. He said that it was necessary to provide qualitative and employment oriented education to students. In view of changing economic scenario, he also emphasised on regular training of teachers. He said that students should also be given knowledge of history, geography and contemporary issues of the world.

He urged the officers to work in coordination with people for water conservation. He also emphasised on strengthening primary health centers in rural areas, so that better health facilities could reach to common man in villages. He asked the officers to get information regarding implementation of various welfare schemes at local level and submit the feedback to the state government.The Governor directed the Public Works Department to maintain quality of roads at all levels and Irrigation and Public Health Department to make adequate management of drinking water and irrigation in the district.It was informed in the meeting that target has been fixed to bring 2700 farmers in the district under natural farming. As many as 48,000 beneficiaries have been issued golden cards under Ayushmaan Bharat Yojna and Rs. 2.10 crore have been spent on treatment of 3,000 patients. Under Him Care scheme, 48362 beneficiaries have been registered and Rs. 3.50 crore have so far been spent on providing treatment and other facilities to 6,000 patients.
