Back to Village-2 at Ramban: Series of activities held across 26 Panchyats on Day 4

The 2nd segment of ‘Back to Village’ Phase II (B2V2) concluded in 26 panchyats of Gool, Sangaldan and Gundidharam blocks, here today.District Development   Commissioner, Ramban   Nazim Zai Khan visited Famrote, Bandan, Dharm and Sangaldan Gram Panchayts of Block Sangaldan and Gundidharam. The DDC was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Development Ramban Zameer Rishu, BDO’ and other officer and officials of RDD during the visit.Addressing the people, the DDC lauded the role of PRIs in ongoing developmental activities and planning at grassroots level to meet the expectations of masses besides ensuring participation of locals in  ’Back to Village -II programmes. He further said that programme witnessed massive participation of locals especially women in Gram Sabhas, public interactions, sports activities,  anti plastic  drive and  awareness campaigns besides other related activities.He informed that “Back to Village”-II programme was successfully conducted in all 94 panchyats of 7 blocks of the district.     He also interacted with the visiting officers, PRIs and general public and appreciated their  efforts  for strengthening Panchyati Raj Intuitions and accelerating development process in rural areas.During the Panchayat meeting, PRIs highlighted local demands and issues seeking all basic facilities in Panchayats liberal funding to complete works during “Back to Village programme. “The Panchayat Raj Institutions  are feeling  empowered as the elected representatives  are being heard and special attention is being paid to the grievances of villagers especially of the women,” they maintained  and hoped that the program will continue in future and go a long way in empowerment of women and the Panchayats in general.Meanwhile, the visiting officers checked the digital signature of Sarpanchs besides assessing the functioning of each Panchayat.
