Back to Village-2 at Kathua : DDC inaugurates Health & wellnesses centre; work on sports stadia launched

The 2nd Phase of Back to Village programme continued today across 137 Panchayats of 9 blocks of Kathua district including border sub division Hiranagar where, visiting officers interacted with local people and Panchayat representatives during Gram Sabhas to get feedback regarding developmental activities.District Development Commissioner, O P Bhagat along with Director RD, Sudershan Kumar, Joint Director, RD, Joginder Singh Rai and ACD, Sukhpal Singh toured Janglot(South) and Nanan panchayats to oversee the conduct of Gram Sabhas and inaugurated a few completed projects.At village Nanan, the DDC inaugurated a Health and Wellness Centre, demand for the same was raised during B2V-1 and the project was executed at a cost of Rs. 7 Lakhs. The work of pond rejuvenation was also kick started by the DDC at Nanan.In Panchayat Janglot(S), the DDC took stock progress on up- coming play field being developed at a Cost of Rs. 8 Lakh. He also listened to the grievances of people, especially with regard to non-sanctioning of benefits under different welfare schemes.In border Sub Division Hiranagar, the visiting officer, Joint Dir., Industries and Commerce, Trishala Kumari, laid foundation stone for construction of sports stadia at village Kootha in presence of SDM Hiranagar, Suresh Sharma and BDC Chairman, Ram Lal Kalia. They also inspected the medical facilities available at ISM Kootha for the border dwellers.Inspection of ongoing development works, plantation drives are few other activities which are carried out by the visiting officers.
