Back to Village-2 in Ganderbal : Public interactions, field visits mark inaugural day of outreach prog

The second phase of flagship programme ‘Back to Village’ (B2V2) was today launched in 39 Panchayat Halqas across the district.On the inaugural day, the designated officers  visited their allotted Panchayats where they assessed the development needs of rural areas besides held public intersections to disseminate awareness regarding government  schemes.Secretary Culture and Technical Education, Zubair Ahmad (Visiting Officer) inaugurated New Type Primary Health Centre constructed at the cost of Rs 172.47 lakh in  presence of DDC Ganderbal, CPO and CMO at Gratabal Safapora.After inaugurating the NTPHC, the Secretary visited various units of the Health Centre including OPD,  Emergency ward, Dispensary, Injection Room, Drug store, etc and suggested the CMO to deploy one Gynecologist once a week for the NTPHC which was the pressing demand  of locals.Secretary RDD Sheetal Nanda, who is Visiting Officer to Gaganger, Block Gund interacted with the PRIs and prominent citizens enquiring them about the status of  development works in the area besides took stock of area specific needs. She said that the purpose of the programme is to see the impact of government schemes on the ground  by empowering Panchayati Raj Institutions.Meanwhile, District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal Hashmat Ali Khan visited various Panchayat halqas including Buderkund,  Kujjar, GogjiGund, Wakura, Safapora, and Gaganger along with CPO Ganderbal to interact with the people under the programme.The DDC urged the visiting officers to make  people aware about the government welfare schemes besides noting their grievances and demands so that their demands are put on priority while framing the district plan for  next financial year.The first day of the programme witnessed multi-pronged events and activities as part of the mega launch of 'Back to Village-2', an initiative to provide  governance at the doorsteps of the rural populace to enlist community participation in decision making for envisaging a total transformation in the rural profile.The events included  Government-public interactions, inaugurations of development works, awareness programmes on welfare schemes and effects of Single-use plastic, convening of Gram Sabhas,  public grievances redressal camps besides seeking public suggestions and feedback.
