Taking serious note of the death of a dalit youth following his thrashing at village Changaliwal in District Sangrur, the Cabinet Minister Mr. Sadhu Singh Dharamsot today met the family of the deceased at PGI and expressed deepest condolences on behalf of the Punjab Government. The minister further said that the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has also expressed grief over the tragic incident senior officers have been ordered to initiate strong action against the culprits. Reassuring the victim family on behalf of the Punjab Government regarding every possible assistance, S. Dharamsot said that under the SC/ST Act, the victim family would be given compensation of Rs. 8.15 lakh and pension of Rs. 5000 to a member of the family. He also assured that necessary steps would be initiated soon to give job to a member of the family. Among others present on the occasion included the SDM Lehragaga and other senior officers.
