The Punjab Government has empanelled 611 hospitals of the state under Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna. One can avail free treatment in these hospitals by showing Sehat Bima Yojna Cards distributed by the state to the beneficiaries. It was said by Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu, Health Minister while distributing Sehat Bima Yojna Cards to the 84 beneficiaries of the village Nandiali of district SAS Nagar.While addressing the gathering at the occasion Health Minister said that besides government hospitals private hospitals have also been empanelled under this scheme.  He said that now the citizen of the state did not have to pay money for their pockets for getting treatment in these empanelled hospitals.Taking about the AYSUH hospitals being established at village Dyalpur Sodhian, the Minister said that with setting up of this hospital the citizen would get quality health treatment in naturopathy. Likewise the state government was constructing 300 bedded medical college and hospital at Mohali. He said that Civil Hospital would be transferred near village Saneta to enable the villagers of these areas to get quality health services at their doorsteps.Mr. Sidhu said that under Sehat Bima Yojna more than 46 lakh families of the state have been covered for free treatment. He said that out of this figure 1.16 lakh families belonging to SAS Nagar and till date 96905 health cards had been formed. He said that till date 2492 people had availed the free health treatment of worth Rs. 3 crore and 62 lakhs.Prominent amongst those present at the occasion included Mr. Harkesh Chand Machli Kalan Political Advisor of the Heath Minister, Mr. Jagtar Singh, Sarpanch Bakarpur, Mr. Ramandeep Singh Sarpanch Safipur, Mr. Harjeet Singh Sarpanch Rurka, Mr. Gurwinder Singh Sarpanch Nandiali and Mr. Rajesh Sarpanch Alipur.
