As the intermittent rains lashed Valley since the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday, the weatherman here have predicted snowfall in higher reaches as well as in plains across Kashmir till November 08.Talking to the wire service –Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Director Meteorological (MeT) department, Sonum Lotus said that there is possibility of snowfall in higher reaches as well as in plains including Srinagar in the coming days.“There is forecast of wet weather till November 08 and the present weather conditions can be extended too,” he said, adding that intermittent rains although lashed Kashmir since the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday, the rains would continue to occur till Friday.Lotus also said that amid the prediction of intermittent rainfall, the department cannot rule out the possibility of season’s snowfall as there is possibility of snowfall as well.Meanwhile, the Mughal Road connecting Kashmir valley with Jammu province via Rajouri and Poonch districts have been closed for all kind of vehicle traffic due to season's maiden snowfall.Locals from the area told KNO that on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, amid bad weather conditions, higher reaches received season's maiden snowfall and snow blanket also covered the road stretch from Poshana to Peer Ki Gali and then in Shopian side. An official of police said that road has been closed for all kinds of vehicular traffic due to snowfall and restoration of traffic depends on fair weather conditions. (KNO)
