The District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg today chaired a meeting to review the progress and pace of work on commissioning of 33kV receiving stations being executed in the district.Superintend Engineer PDD, Executive engineer STD, Executive Engineer PWD Kupwara and other concerned officers attended the meeting.

The meeting was informed that work on seven receiving stations and one transformer work shop is going on at an approved cost of Rs. 1315.74 lakh. Out of which Rs. 116.61 lakh stands expanded and receiving station Karihama has been completed at a cost of Rs. 17.50 lakh.It was informed that work on Receiving Stations at Changmulla, Tarathpora and Chowkibal is in full swing. It was given out that the completion of work on these receiving stations is expected to be completed by the end of this year. While the work on receiving stations to be constructed at Awoora, Ashpora, Trehgam and Tangdar is also in progress.On the occasion the DDC directed the concerned to put extra efforts and gear up men and machinery to complete these projects within the given time frame. He also directed the concerned officers to ensure power supply to Machill and Keran and use Genset as and when required.The meeting also revived the status of  various other receiving stations being executed by PDD including Machil and Keran which are coming up at Rs. 919.80 lakh.DDC directed the concerned to complete these projects by the end of this month, so that the people from these far flung areas will get benefitted.He also directed the concerned officers of PDD to strength the efforts for proper power supply in the district during winter season.
