District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, who is also Co-chairperson of DCPC, ICPS today chaired a meeting of officers to review the implementation of CPS, CWC, JJB and DCPU.The meeting was attended by Chairperson CWC, Bashir Ahmad Khan, ADDC, ADC and other officers.The Chairperson CWC briefed the meeting regarding work done under CWC and JJB. He was informed that there are 24 Child Care institutions operating in the district. It was also given out that under JJ Act, 74 cases have been disposed of through Justice Juvenile Board (JJB).He added that there are 13000 identified cases for sponsorship and 59 cases have been approved who are receiving an amount Rs 2000 per month.It was given out that 6 BLCPC’S were constituted and 120 VLCPCs are in place in the district.DC highlighted the important role of CWC’s and impressed upon the concerned to constitute the BLCP’s and VLCP’s in all left out blocks and villages within 5 and 15 days respectively.He exhorted all the stake holders to work with zeal, dedication and close coordination for the betterment of the children. He also directed the CWC chairperson to organize awareness camps in collaboration with other line departments to sensitize people about child rights and JJ Act.
