Member of Parliament (MP) Chaudhary Santokh Singh and Chairman of Punjab State Warehousing Corporation (PSWC) Raj Kumar Verka on Friday held a detailed meeting with the officers of the district administration and reviewed preparations for the state-level function on October 13 at DAVIET to commemorate the Parkash Utsav of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji.Chairing a meeting here at the DAVIET, Chaudhary Santokh Singh and Raj Kumar Verka along with MLAs Mr Sushil Kumar Rinku, Mr Rajinder Beri said that foolproof arrangements must be made for making this mega event a huge success.They said that the district administration must evolve a foolproof mechanism to ensure smooth flow of traffic besides making proper seating arrangements for the people.They minutely reviewed the arrangements being made by the district administration for this event. They said that wholehearted efforts must be made for smooth conduct of this event. They also had detailed interaction with the district administration regarding the arrangements and logistics made for the convenience of people.On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma and Police Commissioner Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar briefed both MP and Mr Verka regarding the plan chalked out by the district administration for the event which would start at 10 am. He said that various committees headed by senior officers of the district administration have already been constituted for smoothly organizing this event.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the state-level function would be a humble and befitting tribute by the state government to Bhagwan Valmiki Ji, who had preached the message of equality and universal brotherhood on this sacred land.He further said that this function would be instrumental in perpetuating the rich legacy of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji besides showcasing the teachings, life and philosophy of this great Spiritual ambassador.Mr Sharma said that the major thrust of the function was to preserve our rich cultural heritage for the future generations till eternity.Mr Sharma asked all the officers to perform their duties diligently to ensure that this event was observed in an unsurpassed manner.Famous Punjabi Singer Mr Lakhwinder Wadali will pay tribute to Bhagwan Valmiki in a musical way at the function.On the occasion, Kartarpur Improvement Trust Chairman Mr Rajinder Pal Singh Rana Randhawa, Additional Deputy Commissioners Mr Jasbir Singh, DCP Mr Gurmeet Singh, ADCP Ms D Sudarvizhi, Sub Divisional Magistrates Mr Rahul Sindhu, Mr Sanjiv Sharma and Dr Jai Inder Singh, RTA Secretary Dr Nayyan Jassal, Joint Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jalandhar Mr Harcharan Singh, District Education Officer Mr Harinder Pal Singh, District Mandi Officer Mr Varinder Khera, District Welfare Officer, Mr Rajinder Singh, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr Gurmeet Kaur Duggal and others were also present.
