Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma, today chaired a meeting with Deputy Commissioners and concerned officers to review the status of forest land diversion and related issues in Jammu division.The meeting was attended by Chief conservator of Forest, Sameer Bharti, Chief Engineer, PMGSY, Des Raj, ADC Jammu, Rishpal Singh, Assistant Commissioner Central, Jatinder Mishra besides senior functionaries of PWD, PDD, NHIDCL, Social Forestry and other concerned while Deputy Commissioners of Jammu Division along with DFOs attended the meeting through video conferencing.The Div Com sought details of forest land issues pertained to roads and other development projects. He had threadbare discussion on each case pertaining to mega development projects in the region.The DCs apprised the Div Com of status of each case concerning their respective districts.The Div Com asked the concerned officers to speed up the process of joint verification regarding the forest land issues hindering the execution of development projects. He further asked to resolve all the pending cases in an expeditious manner.
